Writing these lyrics

When I wrote these lyrics, I was working to come up with lyrics to put to familiar songs in order to deliver a new message.  The message is that everyone can and does communicate and that when someone's speech is not effective, then there are other methods for communicating called AAC.  AAC stands for augmentative and alternative communication and refers to methods including training, support and access to technology.  This may include use of signing and gesture, or pointing, typing, eye-gaze and other methods for access to technology such as keyboards and computers, speech generating devices, and so forth.  These methods should be explored relentlessly until a method works to enable the person to communicate fluently, clearly and effectively when communicating anywhere, anytime, with anyone about anything.

When I sing this song, I picture the story of a girl or young woman who has limited or no speech, but who has gained a method of effective communication at last.  She is coming to visit family or friends, who are anticipating the great time they will have with her.  They are thrilled that she has freedom to communicate at last.  I hope someday someone will make a music video of this story with the song.
